Our Nurse Led Urgent Care Centre is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide assessment and assistance for urgent health concerns. Located 12 Easton Street, Omeo.
On arrival, you will be assessed by a Registered Nurse, who will determine the most appropriate care for your condition.
It does not provide services you would access through your GP such as medical certificates or prescription renewals. Patients will be seen in order of priority.
The VVED is a public health service for non-life threatening emergencies.
You can access emergency care from anywhere in Victoria, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You will be connected to doctors and nurse practitioners who are trained to assist you. Interpreter services are available for patients who prefer to speak in their own language.

An Australian telehealth platform that provides access to doctors on line 24 hours a day.
Appointment fees: $60 (8am - 6pm), $90 (6pm - 8am), $90 (Sundays and public holidays)
For unexpected symptoms or non-life-threatening illness or injury including abdominal pain, fever, allergic reactions, sports injuries, rashes, fainting, back pain, urinary tract infections.

There is an annual or monthly subscription fee for the service.
Day time and nighttime consultation fees are different depending on whether you are a subscriber. Medicare rebates are available at certain times.

Fees are $179 weekday evenings and $219 weekends/public holidays.
Cub Care charges by the evening rather than per appointment so you can consult with an emergency paediatrician as many times as you need.

What to Expect at Our Rural Urgent Care Centre
On Arrival
A Registered Nurse will assess your condition through a process called triage to determine how urgently you need care and the most appropriate treatment.
Depending on your needs, the nurse may consult with a Doctor (GP) or Nurse Practitioner (NP), either by phone or via telehealth (video consultation).
Following your assessment, you may:
Receive treatment locally
Be admitted to hospital
Be transferred to another health service for further care

Waiting Times
After triage, you may need to wait before treatment. Patients are seen based on the urgency of their condition, not their arrival time. People with serious or life-threatening conditions are treated first. For less urgent conditions, waiting times may be two hours or more, depending on demand and clinical priorities.
Urgent and Emergency Conditions
For urgent or potentially serious conditions, the nurse will arrange medical review and coordinate treatment.
This may include:
Consultation with a doctor
Consultation with specialist retrieval services – Adult Retrieval Victoria (ARV), Paediatric Infant Perinatal Emergency Retrieval (PIPER), Newborn & Paediatric Emergency Transport Services (NETS or PETS)
Observation and treatment at our Urgent Care Centre
Admission to hospital
Transfer to a larger health service if specialised care is required
Discharge with follow-up arrangements
Non-Urgent Conditions
For non-urgent concerns, you may:
Have a telehealth consultation with a doctor through the Virtual Emergency Department; or
Be advised to contact your GP clinic to arrange an urgent appointment.

Ambulance Transfers and Membership

X-Ray
Emergency/urgent care x-rays
Following an assessment and referral from a doctor, suitable x-rays may be undertaken through urgent care. Nursing staff can provide x-rays of upper and lower extremities, such as hands, wrists, feet and ankles. Other emergency x-rays may also be available, depending on the clinical situation.
