Omeo District Health participates in a number of accreditation, quality and compliance programs to ensure we provide safe, high-quality care and services for our community.
1. National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards

The NSQHS Standards apply to our acute and urgent care services. They provide a nationally consistent framework for improving the quality of health care and protecting patients from harm.
2. Aged Care Quality Standards

These standards apply to services delivered through our Residential Aged Care and Home Care programs. They also apply to Transitional Care services provided by Omeo District Health on behalf of Latrobe Regional Health.
The standards focus on ensuring older people receive safe, respectful and person-centred care that supports their independence, choice and wellbeing.
3. Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL)

AGPAL accreditation relates to primary care services delivered by the Omeo Community Health Centre, particularly the Omeo Medical Centre. Accreditation demonstrates that our general practice services meet the standards set by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).
4. Child Safe Standards

Victoria's 11 Child Safe Standards help organisations create environments where children and young people are safe and protected from harm.
The standards aim to:
Promote the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
Prevent child abuse and harm.
Ensure organisations have effective processes to respond to and report concerns, allegations and incidents.
5. Strengthening Hospital Responses to Family Violence (SHRFV)
Following Recommendation 95 of the Victorian Royal Commission into Family Violence, public health services are required to implement a whole-of-hospital approach to responding to family violence.
This includes workforce training, identification and support pathways, continuous improvement activities, and reporting requirements. The program aligns with Victoria's Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM).
6. NDIS Practice Standards
These standards apply to services delivered by Omeo District Health to National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants and help ensure services are safe, high quality and participant-centred.
