The Omeo Community Health Centre provides healthcare for people of all ages and backgrounds. We are committed to delivering safe, high-quality care in a friendly and welcoming environment.
Our clinic is accredited by Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL) against the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Standards. This means we meet national standards for quality and safety.
Our team includes experienced doctors and a practice nurse. We have fully equipped treatment rooms and offer a wide range of healthcare services close to home.

Paediatrician
Monthly Paediatric Specialist Clinics
The Omeo Community Health Centre is pleased to offer a monthly visiting paediatrician service with Associate Professor Noel Cranswick.
A paediatrician is a doctor who specialises in the health, development and wellbeing of babies, children and teenagers. They can assess, diagnose and manage a wide range of childhood health concerns.
About A/Prof. Noel Cranswick
A/Prof. Noel Cranswick is an experienced General Paediatrician and Clinical Pharmacologist. He holds qualifications in medicine and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). He has worked in children's health for many years and currently holds appointments at the Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne and the Murdoch Children's Research Institute.
He provides assessment and care for a broad range of paediatric health concerns and has a particular interest in children's medicines, medication safety and child health.
Accessing the Service
Monthly specialist clinics are held at the Omeo Community Health Centre, helping local families access paediatric care closer to home.
A referral from your GP is required to make an appointment with the paediatrician. Please speak with your doctor or contact our reception team for more information.

This service supports children, young people and their families to receive specialist care locally, reducing the need to travel long distances for appointments.
Recalls & Reminders
At Omeo Community Health Centre, we use recall and reminder systems to support your ongoing healthcare.
Reminders help you remember when it is time for a health service, such as an immunisation, health assessment, screening test, GP appointment or chronic disease review.
Recalls are used when your doctor would like you to return to the clinic to discuss test results, review your treatment, or arrange follow-up care.
You may receive a reminder or recall by phone, SMS, letter or email. Keeping your contact details up to date helps us contact you when needed.
If you do not wish to receive reminders from the clinic, please speak with our reception team. Please note that important recalls relating to your health and wellbeing may still be sent to ensure you receive appropriate follow-up care.

Vaccinations
The Omeo Community Health Centre offers vaccinations Monday to Friday for people of all ages.
Routine childhood immunisations are available at the clinic, with most vaccines kept in stock and ready for your appointment. Some vaccines may require a prescription before they can be provided.
Vaccinations help protect you, your family and the wider community from a range of preventable diseases.

Women’s Health
The Omeo Community Health Centre provides caring, confidential healthcare for women at every stage of life.
Our doctors and nurses offer support for a wide range of women's health needs, including:
Cervical screening tests
Breast health checks and referrals
Contraception advice
Pregnancy and antenatal care
Menopause support
Sexual and reproductive health
Management of periods and menstrual concerns
Chronic health conditions
General health and wellbeing assessments
We understand that discussing personal health concerns can sometimes feel uncomfortable. Our healthcare team is committed to providing a safe, respectful and supportive environment where you can ask questions and make informed decisions about your health.
BreastScreen Victoria Visits
A BreastScreen Victoria Mobile Screening Service visits Omeo each year, making it easier for eligible women to access free breast screening closer to home.
Regular breast screening can help find breast cancer early, often before symptoms develop. Information about upcoming visits and how to book will be shared when appointments become available.
Visiting Women's Health GP
The Community Health Centre is fortunate to have Dr Mariam Cranswick visiting monthly.
Dr Cranswick is a highly experienced General Practitioner with more than 30 years' experience in primary healthcare. She graduated from the University of Melbourne and completed her hospital training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital before moving into general practice. She holds a Diploma in Women's Health from the University of Melbourne and has a longstanding interest in women's health, healthy ageing and preventative care.

Complex Health Needs Nurse
If you are living with a long-term health condition, we can help you manage your health and stay well.
Our Care Coordination Nurse is available 2 days each week to provide support, health checks and advice.

Multiple ongoing health conditions

Living with a chronic health condition can sometimes be challenging. We are here to help you stay as healthy, active and independent as possible.
Care at Home
If it is difficult for you to travel to the Community Health Centre, support may also be available through our District Nursing Service.
Our District Nurse can visit people in their homes and provide support such as:
Health monitoring
Wound care
Medication support
Health education and advice
Ongoing nursing care
The District Nurse works closely with your doctor and other members of your healthcare team to help you receive the care you need.

Healthy Ageing and Memory Support
Changes in memory, thinking, mood or daily functioning can happen for many reasons. Finding support early can help people access information, services and care that may improve their quality of life and independence.
If you, a family member, friend or carer have noticed changes in memory, communication, problem-solving or day-to-day activities, our team can provide an initial assessment and discuss available support options.
Many people find it helpful to talk about these changes early, even if they are unsure whether they are part of normal ageing or something that may need further attention.
Our healthcare team can:
Discuss any concerns you may have about memory or thinking changes
Provide an initial assessment
Arrange further investigations if needed
Connect you with appropriate health professionals and support services
Support individuals, families and carers throughout the process

Telehealth and Virtual Specialist Appointments
Telehealth appointments are available for patients who are unable to attend the clinic in person.
We can also support virtual specialist appointments. If your specialist offers appointments by video, we can provide a private room and the equipment needed to help you attend your appointment at the health centre.
