Mobile x-ray unit operated by licenced radiographers
If you have a referral for an x-ray, trained nursing staff can perform x-rays of upper and lower extremities, including hands, wrists, feet and ankles. In emergency situations, x-rays of other body parts may be available through the Community Health Centre.

Planned and scheduled x-rays
Planned x-rays are available by appointment, subject to the type of imaging required and staff availability.
If the required x-ray cannot be performed at Omeo District Health, we will help you access an alternative imaging service. Some larger or more complex examinations may require referral to Bairnsdale Regional Health Service, the nearest provider of comprehensive radiology services.
Emergency/urgent care x-rays
Following an assessment and referral from a doctor, suitable x-rays may be undertaken through urgent care. Nursing staff can provide x-rays of upper and lower extremities, such as hands, wrists, feet and ankles. Other emergency x-rays may also be available, depending on the clinical situation.

Planned blood tests are available through the Community Health Centre, Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm.

Urgent Care blood tests
Blood tests can be performed during an urgent care visit when clinically required.
The i-STAT point-of-care testing machine provides rapid results for some emergency tests. These results help your healthcare team assess your condition and make decisions about your treatment.
Getting your results
We will let you know when your results are available.
If your doctor needs to discuss your results with you, we will contact you to arrange a follow up appointment. If you do not hear from us, no further follow up with Omeo District Health is usually needed.
You may receive a text message to your registered mobile number confirming your results have been reviewed. Please ensure your contact details are up to date.
