Volunteers are a valued part of the Omeo District Health team. They help strengthen our hospital, residential aged care and community programs by providing friendship, transport and practical support.
Volunteer opportunities may include:
Transporting clients to appointments and activities
Supporting social, lifestyle and exercise groups
Spending time with residents through conversation, reading, craft or games
Assisting with the High Country Men’s Shed
Helping with special events and community programs
You do not need to be a health professional. We welcome people who are caring, reliable and willing to support others.
ODH provides orientation, role-specific training and ongoing support. Volunteers must respect privacy and dignity, maintain confidentiality, follow safety procedures and work within their agreed role. Screening and checks, such as a police check, may apply depending on the volunteer position.
Approved volunteering is covered by ODH’s public liability insurance. A vehicle is provided for approved volunteer driving.
