Volunteering at ODH

Volunteers are a valued part of the Omeo District Health team. They help strengthen our hospital, residential aged care and community programs by providing friendship, transport and practical support.

Volunteer opportunities may include:

  • Transporting clients to appointments and activities

  • Supporting social, lifestyle and exercise groups

  • Spending time with residents through conversation, reading, craft or games

  • Assisting with the High Country Men’s Shed

  • Helping with special events and community programs

You do not need to be a health professional. We welcome people who are caring, reliable and willing to support others.

ODH provides orientation, role-specific training and ongoing support. Volunteers must respect privacy and dignity, maintain confidentiality, follow safety procedures and work within their agreed role. Screening and checks, such as a police check, may apply depending on the volunteer position.

Approved volunteering is covered by ODH’s public liability insurance. A vehicle is provided for approved volunteer driving.
